Buch-Mockup November 1918

November 1918: Karl and Rosa

Karl und Rosa focuses on the story of Karl Liebknecht and Rosa Luxemburg. As in all the volumes of November 1918, this novel deals with the failure of political hopes, and indirectly addresses the run-up to National Socialism. In addition, however, it is about two very individual stories of personal failure. Alfred Döblin is not only interested in the great revolutionary, but also in Rosa Luxemburg as a person: in her grief, her state of being lost and her active imagination.
